New MintPack releases

It’s hard to believe it’s June already. Half of 2013 has already gone by a in a blur of soggy festivals, atrocious weather, and reducing the plastic nasties we dump on the planet, one MINTPack at a time.

We’re always pleased when new artists decide to “go cardboard” for their new albums, no matter how famous or niche. This week we’re showcasing two songstresses from different shore.

Up first is Nolwenn Leroy, the Brittany-born winner of one of France’s Star Academy series.

O Filles de l'eau

With Celtic undertones, this album’s inspired by the legends of the sea: the  mermaids and “water girls” who give their name to the album. The Musique Celtique blog has a great breakdown of the albums’ songs.

Net up is India Arie, whose new album  Songversation will be hitting the shelves on the 25th of June.

Its single “Cocoa Butter” has what’s possibly the best opening line in the history of love songs:

Your love is like cocoa butter on my heart

Enjoy (and don’t forget to moisturise).
